Emelia and GM: A Match Made in Heaven

Whether it's late-night drives down windy mountain roads or putting the Z06 through its paces at the track, Emelia Hartford is truly an ambassador for GM's mid-engined supercar. So it makes perfect sense why GM chose Emelia to showcase their latest powerhouse; her love for cars and discovering new performance capabilities was evident. This partnership is a match made in heaven.

The World's First Twin-Turbo 2023 Corvette Z06

After taking delivery of her brand-new 2023 Corvette Z06, Emelia Hartford was eager to add a few modifications to make the car even more powerful. So, armed with a pair of Precision 6266 turbochargers and experience gained from working on a twin-turbo Chevrolet Stingray, she fitted on to the LT6 V-8 engine to turn her Z06 into the world's first twin-turbo version.

Fans were able to follow along as Emelia and her team documented this process in a series of videos, revealing that many parts from the Stingray were reused to help complete the project quickly. To accommodate the monster turbos, she had to remove the center-exit quad exhaust tips from her new car and install those from the Stingray instead.

The Z06's Flat-plane Crank LT6 V-8 Engine with 670 Horsepower

Emelia doesn't know exactly how much power the twin-turbo Z06 produces, but there's no denying that the car has improved over the bone-stock Z06. The Z06's flat-plane crank LT6 V-8 engine produces 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Still, with the addition of turbochargers, it's safe to assume that the power figures have increased significantly.

However, the team took precautions when fitting the turbochargers, as they needed clarification on the strength of the LT6's internals, particularly the connecting rods. In addition, to ensure the engine's longevity, the softest possible springs were fitted to the wastegate, breathing out the dump tubes once the setup reached just 1.5 psi.

After hard work and dedication, Emelia watched with awe as the transformed Corvette roared to life. Its twin-turbocharged engine had been unleashed in all its glory. It was an intoxicating blend of power and finesse that radiated a deep aggressive note far beyond any other Vette on the road.
