Yamaha has had many impressive motorcycles in its portfolio that no longer exist, and one such model is the FZS1000, popularly known as Fazer 1000. The motorcycle existed for around 15 years, before the company introduced its new “Hyper Naked” range including the MT-10.

What we can’t help but wonder, though, is how the Fazer 1000 would pan out in these modern times, if Yamaha hadn’t pulled its plug. And if you’ve wondered the same thing, popular designer Kar Lee has whipped a render of an updated Fazer 1000 which is nothing short of drool-worthy!

Yamaha Fazer 1000 Reimagined For 2022

Staying true to the older Fazer, the new render boasts a muscular semi-fairing. The fascia is aggressive with Yamaha R1-like LED stripes flanked by projector lamps under them. Draw your rearwards and you’re greeted by a single-piece seat that keeps the Fazer flavor intact, in these otherwise modern split-seat times.

Since this is a render, there aren’t any specs to deal with. But to give you an idea, the last iteration of the Fazer 1000 employed an R1-derived 999cc, inline-four engine and pumped out 150 horsepower.

So if Yamaha were to resurrect it, we’d imagine the new Fazer to boast a 999cc, inline-four engine partnered with a modern cross-plane crank to put out over 165 horsepower. This would give it an edge over any other sports-tourer motorcycle like the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT. }

Top Speed Says

As impressive as all this sounds on paper, there’s a lot of R&D that goes behind an entirely new motorcycle, which shrinks the possibility of a new Fazer 1000. So we suggest you enjoy the renders, but don’t let them get your hopes up. Oh, and don’t forget to comment and let us know what you think of the new Fazer 1000.
