The new Suzuki Jimny may be boxier than its predecessor, but it's definitely a cute looking SUV. This doesn't mean that it's not ready for the great outdoors and Suzuki just created a hardcore concept version to prove just that. Called Jimny Survive, it turns the cute, keicar-like Jimny into a mini Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.

The Suzuki Jimny Survive

The headlamps are covered by thin metal bars for protection against rocks, while the standard bumper was replaced with a steel unit that integrates a winch and a couple of tow hooks. The bumpers also feature extra protection at the corners in the shape of steel plates.

Onto the sides, we can notice an increased suspension setup, custom side skirts, and beefier tires on off-road rims. The roof rack extends over the pillars to form an outer roll cage, while the rear side windows are covered with louvers. The rear fenders also feature steel plates for increased protection at the corners.

It's not surprising that Suzuki chose to name it the Jimny Survive. The heavily modified SUV makes its debut at the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon in January alongside the Jimny Sierra pickup truck. No word on whether it will go in production, but it definitely should.
