Whether you're a fan of JDM (Japanese domestic market) sports cars or not, there are a handful of them that have demanded the respect of car enthusiasts everywhere. Some of these cars include the MKIV Toyota Supra, the R32 Nissan GT-R, and the Acura NSX, and if you've ever wondered how these Japanese legends would perform and sound on the most lust-worthy highway in the world, you're in for a treat. YouTube channel AutoTopNL is kind enough to provide the masses with a POV video of Japanese legends, of past and present, being floored on the fabled German highway, and it's a treat to watch.

The great thing about this video is that, although all models features are all Japanese sports cars, there is quite a variety. A modern day stock Lexus LC500, a tuned, fourth-gen Supra with over 1,000 horsepower, and a Honda Civic turbo are among some of the vehicles featured. Watch as these cult classics zip down the world's most notorious strips of road, and listen to those engines and turbos purr.

All Hail The Japanese Legends

One of many details that makes this video particularly entertaining is that many of the cars featured are not purpose built to go as fast as possible in a straight line. For example, the Acura NSX was of course developed around a race track and was meant to go as fast as possible around corners. The Mitsubishi Lancer and the R32 GT-R featured were also bred around the track, as well as the rally course, to take full advantage of the incredible all-wheel drive systems they have.

When most people think of cars that have a sole purpose of going as fast as possible down a straight line, Japanese vehicles are not likely to be in the forefront of their minds. However, this video proves that the JDM vehicles belong with the best and fastest of them. The way the Supra loses traction because of all the power it's putting down is nothing to be taken lightly, and the sight of a R32 GT-R zooming past is enough to make anyone envious.

Now that it's been established that the Japanese belong on the straightaways as much as any other, this brings us to one question. If you could choose any vehicle in the world to drive down the autobahn, which vehicle would it be? Not all of us can head to Germany and drive a vehicle of our choosing on a whim, which is why videos like these are important for car enthusiasts like us.
